Julie represents insurance companies in litigation involving life, health, disability, long term care, and accidental death insurance matters.
Julie has successfully represented insurers on matters relating to benefit claims under individual policies as well as group plans governed by ERISA, product sales, and broker and agent relationships. She has extensive experience in advising insurers on rescission claims based on misrepresentations and interpleader actions.
Serving as Counsel in Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Coverage, Julie handles all phases of litigation in both New York state and federal courts up to trial, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and early resolution of claims.
Julie has also advised health care providers on a wide range of transactional and regulatory matters, including the formation of single-specialty and multi-specialty mega physician group practices, employment arrangements and management arrangements. She also counseled clients on compliance with federal and state anti-kickback statutes, self-referral statutes, and corporate practice and fee-splitting prohibitions.
In 2019 and 2020, the well-respected Legal 500 recommended Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Coverage practice in the insurance: advice to insurers category. The Insurance Coverage Practice Group since 2016 has been included in the Chambers USA directory in the Insurance: Dispute Resolution: Insurer category.
Julie graduated cum laude from Albany Law School. While in law school, Julie served as the Executive Editor for the Albany Law Environmental Outlook Journal and was a member of the Justinian Honor Society. Julie is fluent in French and enjoys skiing.
