Jonathan A. Emdin
AssociateJonathan A. Emdin is an associate in Rivkin Radler’s Complex Torts & Product Liability and General Liability Groups. Jonathan concentrates his practice in all aspects of civil defense litigation, including construction/labor law, premises liability, automotive liability, and products liability. He also defends against claims in the interrelated areas of elevator liability, security liability, and property damage matters on behalf of property owners, real estate management companies, construction companies, service contractors, and building managers.
Proficient in overseeing all phases of discovery and trial preparation, Jonathan has helped his clients obtain important discovery rulings, dismissals before trial, and favorable resolutions through strategic settlement negotiations and mediation.
While attending Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Jonathan received the Robert F. Wagner Trial Advocacy-Diversity Scholarship, Norman Lefstein Pro Bono Service Award of Excellence, David D. Banta Scholarship, and Robert H. Mckinney Scholarship in recognition of his service to the Indianapolis community. Jonathan also participated in and was named Chairman of the Indiana University Student Outreach Clinic’s Legal Section, partnering with Indiana Legal Services to provide information and legal support to underserved communities around Indianapolis.
Jonathan began his trial experience while in law school, serving as a certified intern in the Major Felonies division of the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, where he sat second and first chair on several bench trials and jury trials. Jonathan examined and cross-examined key witnesses, conducted jury selection/voir dire, and gave opening and closing statements.
Since becoming an attorney, Jonathan has been a steadfast advocate for his clients, honing his litigation and trial skills while also successfully resolving cases and de-escalating potentially serious matters.
A college athlete and former amateur kickboxer, Jonathan still enjoys an active lifestyle and traveling.
