George K. DeHavenSenior Counsel
George K. DeHaven has taken more than 100 verdicts in federal and state courts throughout the New York metropolitan area.
George handles a wide variety of cases, including premises liability, construction/labor law claims, employment discrimination claims, products liability, Jones Act claims, and motor vehicle claims.
George has particular experience defending municipalities and public utilities. For the past 25 years, George has represented America’s largest township – the Town of Hempstead, on Long Island – in a wide variety of tort claims, including roadway and sidewalk claims, recreational facility and sports-related claims, and motor vehicle accident claims.
George has been named to the Nassau County Bar Association’s Screening Committee. He has also been named the vice-chairman of the Nassau County Bar Association’s “Defendants’ Round Table.” An instructor at Hofstra Law School’s Trial Techniques Program, George has been appointed to serve on the Nassau County Bar Association’s Grievance Committee. He previously served for six years as a member of the Judiciary Committee. George is the Immediate Past President of the Long Beach Lawyers’ Association.
A civil war enthusiast, George is a member of the Nassau County Civil War Round Table and lectures on Irish-born generals and Bermuda’s role in the American Civil War.
