Qasim Haq
AssociateQasim is an Associate in Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Fraud Practice Group.
Qasim helps insurers prosecute civil lawsuits under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, including affirmative actions to recover insurer claim payments to those involved in complex, large-scale insurance fraud schemes.
Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Qasim clerked for the Honorable Lurana S. Snow in the Southern District of Florida. In that role, he assisted the judge in handling the court’s civil docket and gained valuable experience in all aspects of federal court litigation. While with the court, Qasim dealt with all manner of discovery disputes ranging from motions to compel discovery to motions for Rule 37 sanctions. He also gained exposure to motions to dismiss, for sanctions and contempt, for damages, and a variety of motions dealing with commercial disputes both in the pre-trial and post-judgment phase, as well as those related to Title VII, and other employment disputes.
Qasim graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, finishing in the top 5% of his class. While in law school, he served as a Research Editor for the Florida Law Review and obtained the Cali Excellence for the Future Award in Corporations and Accounting for Lawyers. Qasim is also a member of the Levin College of Law Chapter of the Order of the Coif.
