Strober Secures Defense Verdict in Bronx County Jury Trial

July 19, 2018 | General Liability

Eric Strober was successful in defending a driver who struck a pedestrian crossing Dyre Avenue in Bronx County in 2014. The client, a plumber, hit a pedestrian while driving a work van. The plaintiff was a New York City Transit worker on his way to work at the time of the accident. He sustained a leg fracture and other injuries as a result of the accident.

The case was tried before a jury and Judge Kenneth Thomson in the Supreme Court of Bronx County. Eric argued and established that the accident was caused by the plaintiff, who darted unexpectedly into traffic, and not the defendant driver.

After a three-day trial the jury rendered a verdict in favor of the defense, finding no liability on the part of the defendant.
