Savino recipient of “Leadership In Law” Award

William Savino has received Long Island Business News’  Leadership in Law – Partner Award.

This honor recognizes individuals who demonstrate dedication, hard work, skill, tenacity and excellence, as well as leadership qualities in both the legal profession and in the community.  Deeply committed to the community, Mr. Savino founded the Long Island Insurance Community, a philanthropic organization that has contributed millions of dollars to United Way and other charitable organizations.

Mr. Savino has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Way of Long Island; Mayor of the Village of Old Brookville, NY (1995-2005); and President of the Villanova University Alumni Association. He has been named among the 100 Most Influential Long Islanders by Long Island Business News, and has been inducted into the Long Island Press’ Powerlist Hall of Fame. He is a recipient of the Fordham University School of Law Long Island Distinguished Alumni Award and received the Firefighters Leadership Award by the Nassau County Firefighters Museum.  

Mr. Savino currently serves as a member of the Boards of Directors of: the Insurance Federation of New York, Inc.; Fireman’s Fund Indemnity Corporation, where he is Chair of the Audit Committee; the Long Island Association, where he is Co-Chairman of the Financial Services and Tax Policy Committees; and the Nassau County Bar Association, where he served as President.

Mr. Savino has been appointed to serve as Chair of the State of New York Tenth Judicial District’s Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission and was recently appointed by the Chief Judge to the Commercial Division Advisory Council. In 2012, New York State Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman named him to a newly created Advisory Committee tasked with making recommendations with respect to the implementation of a pro bono service requirement for attorneys seeking admission to the New York Bar.

Mr. Savino was recognized at a special gala dinner at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Thurs., Nov. 14.
