Evan H. Krinick Elected Managing Partner

UNIONDALE, NEW YORK ? The partners of Rivkin Radler are pleased to announce that they have elected Evan H. Krinick, of Plainview, NY as managing partner.  Mr. Krinick will succeed William M. Savino, who has served as the firm’s managing partner since 2000. 

In an announcement to the firm, Mr. Savino said, “Serving as the Firm’s Managing Partner for the past thirteen years has been my privilege – – my joy – – and the most gratifying service of my professional career… Please join me in congratulating Evan.  We all commit to him our confidence and our full support knowing that the Firm has a great leader in him.”

Evan H. Krinick is a litigator, with a specialty in appellate matters.  Since joining the firm in 1987, following two years as a law clerk to a judge on the New York Court of Appeals, Mr. Krinick has been involved in numerous high profile and legally significant matters.  Most recently, he has been retained by the Long Island Power Authority to represent it in all litigation relating to matters arising from Superstorm Sandy.  He had previously represented LIPA in a series of lawsuits challenging LIPA’s acquisition of Lilco and the Shoreham Settlement Agreement.  

Mr. Krinick is also deeply involved in the insurance arena, with a concentration in insurance fraud and insurance bad faith matters.  He has argued numerous precedent setting appeals in those areas and is presently the New York Law Journal columnist on insurance fraud matters.  He has authored an annual report for the Law Journal on significant insurance decisions from the Court of Appeals for more than a decade. 

 Mr. Krinick has also represented a wide variety of financial institutions, medical practices and business owners in commercial litigation and arbitration matters.  He is the former Chairman of the Leadership Council for the Long Island Mentoring Partnership.

Mr. Savino, whose practice concentrates on commercial and insurance coverage litigation will continue to practice law as a partner at the firm.

Messrs. Krinick and Savino will serve as co-managing partners through the transition. Mr. Krinick will become sole managing partner on January 1, 2014.
