Janice DiGennaro will be a panelist at the New York State Bar Association’s CLE entitled, ” Ethics 2017:  Legal Ethics In the Real World”.  Janice’s topic is “Review of Recent Ethics Opinions and the New York Rules of Professional Conduct.”

Topics to be covered include:

  • Business Development
  • Fees and Other Compensation
  • Forms of Practice
  • Advertising and Solicitation
  • Confidentiality
  • Disclosure of Client Misconduct
  • Litigation:  Recent Issues

Program Description:

Since the new Rules of Professional Conduct replaced the former Code of Professional Responsibility in 2009, the State Bar’s Committee on Professional Ethics has issued about 300 formal opinions

This program will examine changes in forms of practice, business development, fees and other kinds of compensation, lawyer advertising and a host of other matters touching upon client confidentiality and conflicting interests.

You will hear about these changes directly from members of the Committee, as well as leading lawyers, ethicists and disciplinary counsel.  Whether or not you agree with what is happening, you owe it to yourself and your colleagues to stay current on the quickly evolving rules of conduct.
