Alan S. Rutkin Elected to the American Law Institute

UNIONDALE, NEW YORK – Alan S. Rutkin, of Great Neck, a Partner in Rivkin Radler LLP’s Insurance Coverage & Litigation Practice Group, has been elected to the American Law Institute (ALI).  Mr. Rutkin plans to work on ALI’s ongoing project, “Principles of the Law of Liability.”  This project is expected to develop principles of contract law in the liability insurance context, principles of liability insurance coverage, and principles of the management of insured.

Mr. Rutkin possesses more than twenty-five years of experience in disputes involving environmental issues and other complex claims, including claims against policyholder-owned insurers.  He has addressed through litigation, arbitration and negotiation scores of claims in excess of $10 million.

Mr. Rutkin is a frequent speaker on litigation and insurance topics, including the insurance implications of the current credit crisis.  He also has authored articles on many aspects of insurance coverage litigation.
