Jacqueline Mecchella Bushwack has been named among Long Island’s 50 Most Influential Women by the Long Island Business News.  Jacqueline is a member of the Health Services, Litigation & Appeals and Product Liability & Toxic Tort Practice Groups.  Launched in 2000, the Top 50 Program honors the Island’s premier professional women for their exceptional accomplishments, business acumen, mentoring and charitable and community involvement. The honorees represent the most influential women in business, government, education and not for profit fields.

Proficient in managing all phases of discovery and trial preparation, Jacqueline has worked to obtain significant victories on behalf of hospitals, physicians and adult care facilities, as well as landowners, landlords and management companies.

Active in the ABA, where she co-chairs the Work/Life Management Sub-Committee of the Section of Litigation’s Woman Advocate Committee and serves as the Sub-Committee Chair of Book Projects, Jacqueline is also a member of the ABA’s Commission on the American Jury Project which aims to improve jury trials in order to make justice predictable, efficient, fair and impartial.  During the 2013 ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco, she served as a Delegate to the Young Lawyers Division Assembly, where she heard debate and voted on five resolutions relating to various issues faced by attorneys during their early years of practice. While attending the conference, Jacqueline participated in committee meetings and networking events applicable to her areas of practice.

Jacqueline sits on the Board of Directors and serves as co-chair of the Business Advisory Council for the North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center. She is also a member of the Long Island Center for Business & Professional Women. The North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center is the pre-eminent not-for-profit children’s mental health agency on Long Island and the Long Island Center for Business & Professional Women is an organization dedicated to advancing women’s equal participation, leadership and employment in business.

Making it a priority to give back to her community, some of Jacqueline’s prior volunteer experience includes serving a two-year term on the Nominating Committee for the Girl Scouts of Nassau County along with participation and assistance in organizing food drives and toy drives for various organizations on Long Island.

Jacqueline and her fellow honorees will be recognized at a dinner held at the Crest Hollow Country Club on October 23, 2014.
