As counsel to the Long Island Power Authority (“LIPA”) since its inception, we have represented the utility in its acquisition of LILCO, in litigation related to the Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant, and in Superstorm Sandy litigation. Many local municipalities, special districts, public utilities, and other governmental bodies, including the County of Nassau and the Town of Hempstead, turn to Rivkin Radler to help resolve a wide array of matters. We have protected their interests in litigation involving constitutional and federal voting right challenges, condemnation and zoning issues, Section 1983 and other discrimination issues, storm-related events, and general tort claims.
