Ted Finkelstein is Of Counsel in the Health Services Practice Group, where he provides taxation and corporate legal services.
Ted has been an admitted and practicing attorney in New York since 1979. Before joining Rivkin Radler, Ted was in private practice, providing specialized legal services including business and corporate law, taxation, real estate and wills, trusts and estates.
From 2002 through 2013, Ted was vice president, secretary and general counsel of Gilman Ciocia, Inc., a publicly owned financial services, income tax return preparation and accounting company that owned and operated a FINRA broker dealer. His responsibilities included; supervising the HR Department, drafting employment contracts, drafting and updating the Employee Manual and managing employee grievances, EEOC complaints and lawsuits; Sarbanes Oxley, FINRA and SEC compliance; SEC filings; negotiating business acquisitions and drafting asset purchase agreements; overseeing company litigation and FINRA arbitration; and negotiating and drafting company contracts,.
For 13 years, Ted operated a law firm in Putnam County, specializing in real estate, taxation, corporate estate and financial planning, trust and estate administration and private real estate syndications. Clients included HSBC, Wells Fargo Bank, Prime Capital Services, Inc. (FINRA broker dealer) and Somers Plaza Shopping Center.
Ted began his career as assistant corporation counsel in the New York City Law Department, where he litigated commercial, zoning, civil rights and tort actions.
