Nancy A. Del Pizzo

Nancy Del Pizzo is a member of Rivkin Radler’s Commercial Litigation; Intellectual Property; and Privacy, Data & Cyber Law Practice Groups. She has more than a decade of experience resolving commercial disputes, including intellectual property matters such as trademark, trade dress, copyright and patent infringement, restrictive covenants and domain name disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition, false advertising, defamation and trade libel.

Nancy’s experience also includes counseling on discrete business issues (from avoidance of litigation to litigation preparation, commencement and trial) as well as litigating complex insurance coverage disputes and investigating, litigating and/or successfully settling subrogation claims. She also advises clients regarding data breaches, including handling post-breach notifications, and her practice includes drafting complex agreements, such as licensing and confidentiality agreements and assignments and prosecuting trademark and copyright applications.

Nancy is co-chair of the Internet/Privacy Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Litigation Section. She also is co-chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Committee.

Nancy frequently writes and speaks on various topics and serves on the New Jersey Lawyer Magazine’s Editorial Board. She also serves on the District VC Ethics Committee (Essex County – West).  Nancy is a former chair of and currently serves as legislative coordinator of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s LGBT Rights Section. Nancy was the featured profile in the New Jersey Law Journal’s “The Bar Report,” February 27, 2012.

Nancy has a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating in Intellectual Property, Litigation and Civil Practice.  She was named to the 2017 New Jersey Super Lawyers list, a distinction reserved for only 5% of attorneys. Nancy was selected to be a “Rising Star,” 2011-2015 by New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine. In addition, she is a Barrister in the John C. Lifland Inn of Court and received the 2007 New Jersey Occupational Therapy Association President’s Award for “Outstanding and Committed Service” for her pro bono work.

Nancy began her legal career in 2005 as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Barbara Byrd Wecker, J.A.D. (ret.).  She is a magna cum laude graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, where she served as managing editor of the Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law and evening vice president on the Executive Board of the Student Bar Association. During law school, she also interned for the Hon. William J. Martini, U.S.D.J.

For nearly two decades prior to becoming an attorney, Nancy operated a sole proprietorship, providing writing, editing and consulting services for organizations of various sizes, including Fortune 500 companies. She published hundreds of articles in consumer and trade magazines and newspapers, focusing on health, medicine and fitness, with a particular emphasis on eye care and eyewear.
