Michelle A. Bholan litigates commercial cases in federal and state court.
As part of the Rivkin Radler Superstorm Sandy litigation team, Michelle currently is representing a major corporation in class action litigation. She also has successfully tried an insurance coverage dispute arising from damage caused by Superstorm Sandy.
In addition to representing insurers in first-party property disputes, Michelle represents insurers in fraud claims arising from the healthcare and automobile insurance industries.
Michelle also has a diverse labor and employment practice. She has extensive experience representing clients in disputes involving discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, and restrictive covenant/non-competition claims. She also has significant experience representing clients in various proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.
Since 2014, Michelle has co-authored the recurring article entitled, “Recent Developments in Business Litigation,” for the Annual Survey of the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Law Journal.
New York Super Lawyers magazine named Michelle as a Rising Star in the Metropolitan New York area for 2016 and 2017. Only 2.5% of the lawyers in New York are named to the Rising Stars list.
Before joining Rivkin Radler, Michelle was a fellow at the New York City Law Department and an intern with the Hon. William D. Wall in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Michelle gives back to her community by mentoring students at Summit Lane Elementary School in Levittown. She helps students in the English as a Second Language program gain the confidence necessary to assimilate and succeed. Michelle’s work with these children has inspired her to take on a new challenge: She is currently learning to speak French.
