Kara A. Matejov is an associate in the Firm’s Commercial Litigation; Compliance, Investigations & White Collar; and Health Services practice groups. She focuses her practice on litigation, compliance and healthcare-related matters.

In addition, Kara handles guardianship applications and collections for hospitals and nursing homes. She also performs compliance research and analysis for healthcare clients relating to the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute. Finally, Kara is involved in no-fault insurance defense work.

Kara holds a Certificate in Business Law, and her career spans both the public and private sectors. She was most recently a legal fellow at the New Jersey Bureau of Securities. There, she conducted examinations research and regulatory analyses.

Kara interned at several New York City law firms and was a compliance intern with an insurance brokerage firm.

While working with the Suffolk County District Court as a judicial intern for Hon. William G. Ford, she wrote draft decisions, one of which was published in the New York Law Journal.

Kara received her juris doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School, where she was associate managing editor of the Brooklyn Journal of Corporate, Financial & Commercial Law. She was co-chair of the Legal Association for Women from 2013-2014.
