Joshua D. SmithAssociate
Joshua D. Smith is a commercial litigator, with a particular focus on insurance fraud investigations and resulting complex litigation in federal and state courts.
A senior associate in Rivkin Radler’s Commercial Litigation and Insurance Fraud Practice Groups, Joshua has successfully represented insurance carriers in complex fraud litigation under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“RICO”), including obtaining multimillion dollar judgments against individuals involved in schemes to defraud New York’s No-Fault system. Joshua’s practice includes representing clients in arbitration, mediation, and federal and state court litigation, in matters ranging from first-party insurance claims to complex commercial disputes. Joshua has also successfully briefed and argued appeals before New York state appellate courts.
Joshua graduated from The George Washington University Law School with honors. While at GW Law, he served on the school’s moot court board and won the school’s International Law Moot Court Competition.
Joshua is an accomplished jazz saxophonist, having recorded and released multiple albums, both as a solo artist and a sideman. He is also an avid hiker and backpacker.
