Ian Linker has nearly 20 years of civil litigation experience. Before joining Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group, Ian worked for 12 years as in-house counsel for MetLife’s litigation department, where he acquired significant experience in appellate work and nationwide ERISA-benefits litigation. In that role, Ian managed ERISA litigation matters, counseled clients, and trained and supervised attorneys handling ERISA litigation.

Ian also led MetLife’s appellate practice group where he organized and presided over several moot courts to prepare attorneys for oral argument, mentored in-house attorneys who volunteered to brief and/or argue an appeal, and supervised their drafting of briefs and preparation for oral argument.

For almost two years while at MetLife, Ian also served as the Company’s e-discovery counsel.  He has extensive insurance litigation, class action, complex commercial litigation, antitrust, and product liability experience.

Ian has volunteered to work pro bono for an organization representing women who have suffered domestic violence and for an organization representing death-row inmates.

In 2011, Ian was briefly a candidate for the U.S. Senate in New Jersey. He has written several opinion editorials for publication.
