Gregory R. Mitchell represents healthcare providers in corporate, transactional, and regulatory matters.
An associate in Rivkin Radler’s Health Services and Corporate Practice Groups, Gregory advises clients on compliance and regulatory issues, federal and state anti-kickback statutes, self-referral statutes, and privacy rules, as well as general corporate and business transactions. He has spoken and co-authored articles on related topics, including medical marijuana in New York.
In October 2014, Gregory was part of a team at the firm that closed a multi-million dollar transaction involving the partial sale of ownership of a large physician group to a hospital network.
Gregory serves as the health law liaison for the Nassau County Bar Association, advising other lawyers on healthcare issues that arise in connection with their pro bono representations.
While attending Emory University School of Law, Gregory interned with the general counsel’s office at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and with the general counsel for UCB, a multinational pharmaceutical company. He received the Dean’s Award for excellence in the study of contract drafting, negotiations, and regulation of healthcare providers and also was the recipient of the American Bar Association Health Law Section and Bureau of National Affair’s Award for Excellence in the Study of Health Law.
In addition to his law degree, Gregory holds an M.S. in Bioethics from Union Graduate College and The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
The Health Services Practice Group has been listed in the prestigious Legal 500. The practice is also recognized as “notable” by Chambers USA.
