David P. Leno

David P. Leno advises clients on all aspects of real estate transactions.  A Partner in the Firm’s Real Estate, Zoning & Land Use Practice Group, David negotiates and prepares transactional and financing documents and conducts closings for commercial and residential properties.  He prepares and negotiates office, commercial, and retail leases, as well as submissions.  David regularly appears before town boards and planning agencies across Long Island for zoning matters including variances, special use permits, and subdivision applications.

In 2011, David was appointed as a member of the New York State Board of Real Estate. David was recognized as a New York Metropolitan SuperLawyer in Land Use and Zoning in 2014 and 2015.  He was also selected as one of Long Island’s 40 Under 40 for the class of 2007 by Long Island Business News.

David has published several articles, including: Zoning Trends on Long Island: Examining the Brookhaven Zoning Amendment (New York Real Estate Journal, May 2003); New E-Signature Law: Impact on B2B, B2C & B2G (The National Law Journal, September 25, 2000); Electronic Signatures: Getting Off to a Troubled Start in Real Estate Transactions. (New York Law Journal, August 9, 2000). He also lectures on zoning and land use topics and has taught several CLE programs on zoning-related issues and Industrial Development Agency (IDA) financings.

David was named a Super Lawyer in the Metro New York Area in Land Use/Zoning for 2016 and 2017.

Having assisted in the formation of the Chaminade Alumni Businessmen’s Association, David remains active with the Chaminade High School Alumni Association and the Chaminade Alumni Lawyer’s Association.

David is a President’s Council Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  In addition, David is an Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 240 in West Hempstead. David has been appointed as the President of Chaminade High School’s Lawyer’s Association.
