Nancy Del Pizzo serves as Co-Chair of Rivkin Radler’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. She has nearly twenty years’ experience solving disputes in various areas of law, including trademark, trade dress, copyright and patent infringement, restrictive covenants and domain name disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition, false advertising, defamation and trade libel, website accessibility, and shareholder disputes, among other matters.

Nancy’s experience also includes counseling on discrete business issues (from litigation avoidance to litigation preparation, commencement, expert discovery and trial). She also advises clients regarding data breaches, including handling post-breach notifications, and preparing website terms and conditions and privacy policies. Her practice also includes drafting and negotiating complex agreements, licensing and confidentiality agreements and assignments as well as prosecuting trademark applications and litigating before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Nancy is Co-Chair of the Internet/Privacy Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Litigation Section. She also is a Past Co-Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Committee, a position she held from 2016 –2018. In addition, she is a Master in the John C. Lifland Inn of Court, a federal practice and IP-focused section of the American Inns of Court. The New Jersey Supreme Court appointed Nancy to its Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics for the term running January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2025.

Nancy frequently writes and speaks on various topics, including IP issues, diversity and inclusion, and privacy and since 2023 has served on Law360’s intellectual property editorial board. She also serves on New Jersey Lawyer Magazine’s editorial board. She is a Past Chair of the District IIA Ethics Committee (Bergen County). Nancy also is a former chair, legislative coordinator and trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s LGBT Rights Section, where she also held various other officer positions. Nancy was the featured profile in New Jersey Law Journal’s “The Bar Report,” February 27, 2012.

Nancy has an AV Preeminent Rating in Intellectual Property, Litigation and Civil Practice, which is an award conferred by Martindale Hubbell. On October 12, 2022, the New Jersey Law Journal named her to its 2022 list of Women Attorneys of the Year, and featured a profile in its November 7, 2022, issue. Nancy also was selected to be a “Rising Star,” 2011-2015, by New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine. Nancy began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Barbara Byrd Wecker, J.A.D. (ret.). She is a magna cum laude graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, where she served as managing editor of the Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law and evening vice president on the Executive Board of the Student Bar Association. During law school, she also interned for the Hon. William J. Martini, U.S.D.J.

As a former member of the media, Nancy has a unique insight into legal issues front and center for that industry as well as the industries she covered, though her clients span across various markets. Specifically, prior to becoming an attorney, Nancy operated a sole proprietorship, providing writing, editing and consulting services for organizations of various sizes, including Fortune 500 companies. She published hundreds of articles in consumer and business-to-business magazines and newspapers, focusing on health, medicine and fitness, with a particular emphasis on health, fitness, eye care and eyewear and remains a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
