Paul V. Majkowski focuses on complex mass toxic tort and class action litigation in both domestic and foreign forums.

Paul’s practice includes defending claims for personal injury and property damage purportedly arising out of alleged exposure to herbicides, pesticides and other chemicals. He is experienced in alleged dioxin exposure cases, and routinely engages with epidemiologists, toxicologists and biostatisticians, as well as medical clinicians and scientists in other disciplines.

In addition to his focus on toxic tort and product liability, Paul successfully has litigated and arbitrated a broad range of other disputes over the course of his more than 25 years in practice. His experience includes comprehensive environmental and mass tort insurance coverage actions, employment discrimination defense, high-exposure personal injury cases and other insurance coverage matters, including nursing home coverage.

Paul is active in the International Association of Defense Counsel and is a co-chair of the Environmental & Toxic Torts Subcommittee of the American Bar Association Litigation Section’s Mass Tort Committee. He routinely publishes on a variety of issues involving mass torts, toxic torts and related science, international toxic tort litigation and the recognition of foreign judgments, and has co-chaired or presented at ABA seminars, including the Joint Environmental, Mass Torts and Product Liability CLE, Chemical and Industrial Products workshop and at the US-Korea Law Foundation’s US-Korea Law Day conferences.

A former editor-in-chief of the St. John’s Law Review, Paul has served as an officer and director in the Nassau and Manhattan chapters of the law school’s alumni association. He also participates in the ABA’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition as a moot court judge and brief grader.

Paul devotes significant time to the Lymphoma Research Foundation. He currently serves as an LRF Ambassador, is a past president of the Foundation’s New York City chapter and a co-founder of the Long Island chapter, and was named the 2016 recipient of the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award. He also currently serves an appointment as an FDA Patient Representative through the Office of Special Health Issues and has sat on panels of the FDA Oncologic Drug Advisory Committee. Paul volunteers pro bono with the Cancer Advocacy Project of the New York City Bar Association.
