Eric S. Strober heads Rivkin Radler’s Medical Malpractice Defense Practice Group, leading a team of attorneys in defending physicians, podiatrists, dentists, nurses, physician’s assistants, home care professionals, urgent care centers and medical practices in a wide variety of medical specialties including anesthesia, cardiology, emergency room medicine, infectious diseases, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, pediatrics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, podiatry, urology, radiology, among others. He also represents clients in matters involving complex toxic torts, construction, product liability, general and auto liability in both state and federal courts, trying many cases to verdict.

Eric is also a partner in Rivkin Radler’s Complex Torts & Product Liability and General Liability Practice Groups. His toxic tort cases have involved mass tort suits arising from asbestos, pharmaceutical products, and latex gloves. Recent cases have involved the defense of various medi-spas in the use of cosmetic lasers and cryotherapy. Other cases have involved claimed exposure to mold, lead paint, and chemicals. In addition to many consumer product liability cases, clients have called on Eric to coordinate the defense of lead paint claims on a national level. Eric is also routinely retained to defend auto liability cases involving especially complex issues or potential high exposure. He obtained one of the New York Law Journal ‘s “Top Ten Defense Verdicts of 2004.”

Eric also represents landowners, management companies, and various contractors in defending against general liability, mold exposure, lead paint exposure and construction accident cases, including explosions, fires, and scalding.

He has been retained as monitoring or defense counsel in catastrophic injury cases throughout New York. He has represented hospitals, nursing homes, home healthcare companies, major universities, and national retailers in cases involving allegations of negligence, landowner liability, defective products, dangerous conditions, and civil rights violations. Eric also has represented municipalities in various lawsuits ranging from allegations of catastrophic injuries to civil rights violations.

Eric has lectured for the New York State Bar Association and has presented several continuing legal education courses for fellow attorneys.

In 1997, Eric assisted attorney Paul Callan in successfully representing the Estate of Nicole Brown Simpson in the civil case against O.J. Simpson.

When not representing his clients, Eric channels his energy through his Fender Stratocaster guitar and can often be found out on Wednesday nights playing rock and blues in Nyack, NY.
